* Last chance to sign
up. HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!
Surf Forecast - Good for Dec 31st 2006
Flat, Flat, FLAT...so small that Randy Wright didn't
even shoot photos today (Saturday). Absolutely gorgeous
though, and when the tide dropped out there were a few
weak longboard waves to be had, but it was basically
a scramble for crumbs.
New Years Eve is when we'll start to
see a little more action again. We have a new, NW swell
heading our way from a 295 degree angle at 15 second
intervals. Other than the California Buoy, (14.8 feet
at 14 seconds), there's not too much activity in the
water yet. This one may not even be here by the early
morning, so don't get too fired up tonight. Many of
the swell models are projecting an early arrival, but
the buoys don't substantiate it...not yet anyway, so
we could still be in for the high tide blues for the
morning session. As the swell filters in it should put
the most exposed West facing beaches into the chest
to head high zone with top spots going overhead. Conditions,
once again, look fantastic with light offshore winds
through the morning.
For morning tides, on Sunday an extremely
high 6.1 foot tide will hit at 6:20AM then back down
to a -1.0 low at 1:50PM. The clean conditions will last
until around 11:00AM so keep your fingers crossed Mother
Nature delivers early
Sea surface temperatures are as follows-the
South Bay is clocking in at a frosty 57, OC is at 59
degrees and Malibu is down to a skull splitting 54 (yikes)
degrees.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!!!
* I'll be pulling plug on the free stuff
